This is in central California and was taken as we drove by. No time to check what was being sold… but I can say it was almost noon in may and this guy was wearing a jacket and I can’t remember it being cold.
Fruit stands are very common in many parts of the world but not something I see a whole lot in California (in the big cities) but the central part of california is very much an agricultural area so this makes complete sense.
He’s selling strawberries. I am a lifelong resident of the Monterey Peninsula and see individuals like the man in the image selling fruit. May & June are pretty typical months for strawberry farm workers to sell the harvest fresh from the fields and usually cheaper than the grocery stores. Great photograph!!!
