Santa Cruz de la Palma is the main city on the island of La Palma which is part of the Canary Islands. By main city I mean the most well known and the one with the airport closest to it. Llanos is the larger city.
The city is about 18k people if that helps give an idea
Canary Islands are part of Spain but are more closely located off the coast of Africa… they are volcanic islands.
In proceeding posts we’ll focus on the main volcano on the island of La Palma.
However on this day we flew in and I simply took a couple of hours out to walk around the small city and take some pictures of my first impressions.
This post will give a good feel of the look and personality of the city of Santa Cruz de la Palma.
Particularly the houses and roads in the city.

Can we say scenic (above)
This was the view from the place we were staying and the window was one of the many windows found around town.

(Above) This will show much of the city (island) is built on hills, it being a small volcanic island and all.

(Above) a couple of my favorite street scenes from the walk around.
Note the material of the ground on the left.

Perfect blend of the small quaint colorful city and the sporty colorful car.

I suppose it’s not the best picture to envision the city… but I liked it so I put it on anyway… I zoomed in while taking the picture.
Which reminds me 4yrs ago on this trip I shot primarily with an 18-200vr lens I got just prior to the trip.
I enjoyed the lens but prefer the lenses I have now days much more.
